Haciendo Consultoría de Marketing y Negocios: Descubriendo los desafíos y aprendizajes

¡Hola, mercadólogo! Hoy quiero contarte sobre lo que ha sido mi experiencia realizando una consultoría de marketing y negocios a lo largo de estos últimos 4 meses. En este tiempo, trabajando junto con un amigo vimos cara a cara las entrañas de una empresa de productos de belleza… y déjame decirte que los aprendizajes han sido enormes.

En definitiva, lo primero en que uno cae en cuenta es que esto no es tarea fácil. Es un mundo muy complejo -no necesariamente complicado- en el que hay que sumergirse. Y tiene sus desafíos, como toda consultoría; eso sí, recordando que cada una es diferente y se centra en áreas específicas.

En nuestro caso, nuestro servicio abarcó de manera general lo que creímos que abarcaba todos los aspectos de una empresa. Nos adentramos en el negocio, comprendimos su modelo, procesos y estructura. Conocimos a las personas involucradas, entendimos sus roles, sentimientos, emociones y pensamientos. Analizamos la información que se encontraba en los sistemas y los datos. Y, por supuesto, nos concentramos en la marca, su estado actual y cómo se quería proyectar.

En este proceso, caímos en cuenta de que una empresa es algo mucho más grande y complejo de lo que imaginas. Suena tonto pero en verdad uno no lo dimensiona hasta que está ahí, aprendiendo en cabeza ajena.

Llegas a conocer al empresario, a las personas que trabajan en ella, sus motivaciones, frustraciones, errores y hasta sus manías. Entiendes cómo una decisión en un extremo puede tener un efecto dominó que se extiende por toda la organización. Porque, en serio, todo está conectado. TODO.

No puedes simplemente señalar una parte de la empresa y decir: “Esto está mal, haz esto y esto, y listo, se solucionará tu problema”. La realidad es mucho más compleja, porque un negocio es todo un ecosistema lleno de variables, personas, emociones, dinero y posibilidades que no se ven a simple vista.

Sumergirse en toda esta información, comprender los sistemas, lor por qués, las conexiones, las fallas, las emociones, los conflictos, y luego alinear todo eso con los objetivos de la empresa y de los empresarios -que a veces no van en la misma dirección-, requiere de mucha atención, inteligencia y prudencia.

Para llevar todo este proceso es crucial ser cauteloso con lo que decimos y respetar los tiempos de la consultoría. Al principio, todo es una etapa de diagnóstico. No podemos sacar conclusiones apresuradas basadas en lo que vemos hasta que hayamos examinado todo en detalle.

Es hasta el último momento, cuando reúnes toda la información que pueden caer los 20´s y entonces entiendes de verdad la situación, por lo que hasta ese momento puedes sacar conclusiones. Apresurarnos a aseverar cosas es cometer un grave error que puede precipitar en decisiones muy equivocadas.

Mi tiempo ha estado muy ocupado debido a esto. Ha sido demandante, pero igual de enriquecedor y lleno de aprendizajes. Hemos tenido que enfrentar desafíos que tal vez no conocíamos, entender sistemas y plataformas nuevas para nosotros, interactuar con personas, resolver situaciones diversas y mucho -mucho- más.

Recientemente presentamos resultados, no había querido publicar este blog porque verdaderamente me sentía consumido por todos los proyectos y actividades que estaba realizando en mi semana, sumado a que aún no habíamos concluido el diagnóstico.

La verdad es que los resultados me enorgullecen, genuinamente entregamos muchísimo valor y eso, como mercadólogo, es lo más importante. Nos la rifamos mi Lalo.

Por eso mismo, bajo la etiqueta de marketero estoy fascinado y emocionado con este mundo de conocer empresas y adentrarme en sus entrañas. Lo disfruto y me suma tanto como persona como en mi rol de mercadólogo.

Veamos qué nos depara el futuro, qué nuevos proyectos se suman y dónde acabamos. Personalmente, mientras sigamos aprendiendo, yo estoy dentro.
